The Great Tythe Barn Tetbury Cotswolds Wedding Photographer

Debbie & Steve’s Sun-Soaked Wedding at The Great Tythe Barn, Tetbury

Debbie and Steve’s wedding at The Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury was everything a summer celebration should be—joyful, heartfelt, and beautifully relaxed (with a touch of sunburn for me thrown in for good measure!). On what turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year, the sun cast a golden glow over the entire celebration, adding a vibrant warmth that reflected the couple’s love and energy.

That morning, while taking a quiet walk to familiarise myself with the surroundings, I came across a stunning nearby wheat field. I mentally bookmarked it—and later that evening, as the sun dipped lower in the sky and the light softened to a dreamy golden hour hue, we returned with Debbie and Steve to capture some truly breathtaking portraits. It was one of those moments where everything aligned—light, location, and connection.

As a wedding photographer based in Derbyshire, I’m lucky to explore unique venues all over the UK—and The Great Tythe Barn in Gloucestershire really stands out. This historic barn blends rustic charm with refined elegance, creating a warm and inviting space that’s perfect for relaxed and memorable weddings. The outdoor ceremony was a particular highlight, set against the backdrop of the barn’s beautiful stone walls and lush grounds. Their sons played meaningful roles in the ceremony, which added such a personal and touching layer to the day.

The celebrations continued with an energy that didn’t wane. From heartfelt speeches to a buzzing dance floor, their guests brought the joy—and plenty of memorable moves! It's moments like these, unscripted and full of personality, that I love to document most. Whether it’s a spontaneous laugh, a hug between old friends, or kids tearing up the dance floor, these are the memories that last.

Although I always enjoy capturing those golden-hour portraits in beautiful settings like the fields around The Great Tythe Barn, my real focus is on candid storytelling—photographing real moments as they unfold naturally, so each couple's day is preserved just as it was.

Debbie and Steve’s wedding was a perfect reflection of what I love about my job: genuine people, stunning venues, and the chance to tell stories through relaxed and meaningful images.

If you’re planning a wedding at The Great Tythe Barn in Tetbury or anywhere else across the UK, I’d love to be part of your day. I may be based in the Midlands—but I’ll never say no to a road trip for a good love story!
